- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 carrots, peeled and diced
- 2 celery stalks, diced

- 2 cups water
- 1 bay leaf
- ½ teaspoon dried thyme
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- Salt, to taste

Instructions:
